Nigerian youth arrested, sent to jail
Bhubaneswar, June 25 (UNI) A Nigerian youth was arrested by the Orissa police and later sent to jail today as he failed to produce any valid document to prove his identity.
Police said the youth identified himself as Emmnaul Nwani (27) from Udi village in Anambra state of Nigeria. He was arrested last night while moving in a suspicious situation before a hotel here.
He had come to Bhubaneswar from Delhi on June 23 by Sahara Airlines and was staying in a hotel here. He could neither produce his passport nor any document to prove his identity.
Police seized a mobile from his possession but no other document was recovered from him.
He was booked under section 14 of the Foreigners Act and section 12 of the Passports Act. The youth was produced before a magistrate and later sent to judicial custody.
