MCX COMDEX up 7.39 points

Mumbai, June 25 (UNI) The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) COMDEX closed at 2152.85 up by 7.39 points (0.34 per cent), during the week ended June 22.

The recorded total weekly turnover was Rs 34,247.30 crore, according to a MCX weekly report.

The MCX metal index closed at 2230.02 up by 30.75 points (1.38 per cent), while energy index closed at 2664.22 up by 17.16 points (0.64 per cent) and agri index closed at 1564.32 down by 25.71 points (-1.64 per cent).

All contracts of MCX gold were registered at a turnover of Rs 17,743.42 crore, while silver recorded a turnover of Rs 8,465.12 crore. The outstanding open interest for all contracts of gold was 7,277 kg and the total volume recorded was 2,03,840 kg. The outstanding position for all MCX silver contracts for the week was 2,30,390 kg and the total volume recorded was 54,18,580 kg.

In the metal segment, all MCX copper contracts registered a turnover of Rs 4,866.46 crore with open interest of 5,690 ton and recorded total volume of 1,50,843 ton, while all MCX zinc contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 737.28 crore with open interest of 4,885 tons and recorded 52,205 tons as total volume.

Following are the major commodities on the MCX : mentha oil contracts registered a turnover of Rs 421.05 crore with open interest of 22,57,920 kg and total volume recorded was 89,84,520 kg, while refined soya oil contracts with open interest of 18,250 tons registered a turnover of Rs 335.08 crore and total volume recorded was 81,530 tons. Potato contracts registered a turnover of Rs 212.73 crore with open interest of 90,690 ton and total volume recorded was 3,67,440 tons.
