Maoists blast Congress leader's house
Visakapatnam, June 25 (UNI) A group of Maoists today blew up the house of a senior Congress leader and former MLA of Chintapalli P Balaraju.
According to Police, a group of naxals entered the house early today and asked the leader's mother who was alone to leave the house before blowing it up.
The naxals also left behind a letter at the site warning the government of more such attacks on the Congressmen if the government did not stop the combing operations.
The letter also demanded Mr Balarju to withdraw his support to the digging of Bauxite by a mining company in the area.
Mr Balaraju was earlier kidnapped by the naxals in 1993 and kept in their custody for 23 days.
He was released after the Government yielded to their demand of releasing a top naxal leader Kranti Ranadhev from jail.
