Kashmiri handicrafts firm gets international award

Srinagar, June 25 (UNI) Shaw Brothers, a Kashmiri handicrafts firm, has bagged this year's international award for best trade name in Spanish capital Madrid.

The award to the company has been granted in recognition of its ''excellent brand image and for quality and service within its trade''.

A company spokesman said the award was presented by the Trade Leaders Club, which is an international trading conglomerate with its branches in 95 countries having 7000 members.

The award ceremony was held in Madrid where the headquarters of the organisation were located and attended by trade authorities and diplomatic representatives of renowned trading houses from more than 40 countries, he added.

The spokesman said the award was based on surveys carried out in different countries. This year's survey found Shaw Brothers as ''real leaders in their trade sector and geographical area''.

Established in 1840, Shaw Brothers is one of the oldest names in Kashmir Handicrafts.
