Jodhpur prosecutor to help complainant in Salman's chinkara case
Ahmedabad, June 25 (UNI) The Gir Nature Youth Club, a voluntary organisation dedicated to wildlife protection and environment, has sought the help of Mahendrasinh Kachhawa, the special prosecutor in the black buck case against filmstar Salman Khan, for the chinkara killing case, involving the actor.
Club president Amit Jethawa, on whose complaint the chinkara killing case against Salman was reopened after eight years, said, ''Dr Kachhawa will be here on Tuesday and will meet the investigating officers and record the statement of the locals.'' The case of illegal poaching of two chinkaras, a protected species of deer family, had been closed for ''want of evidence.'' But the case was referred to the CID, at the instance of Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
Salman had allegedly hunted the chinkaras near Sumrasar village, near Banni area of Kutch when he was here for the shooting of 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' film in 1998.
