Bhind,MP, June 25 (UNI) An intensive search was carried out today in Chambal ravines by 150 police jawans to track down notorious dacoit Jagjivan Parihar, who carries a reward of Rs 1.25 lakh on his head, but no breakthrough was achieved.

On a tip-off, Superintendent of Police Rajababu immediately dispatched 150 jawans, who searched Redoli, Ramta, Malpura, Jamora, Kharaka, Khadik, Janaura, Soi and other ravines in the Chambal valley.

Mr Rajababu said elaborate arrangements had been made to nab Jagjivan. SAF and police jawans were being given special training.

Meanwhile, police had started mixing up with villagers in a bid to establish cordial relationship so that the villagers provide useful information from time to time.

The Parihar gang had abducted eight people -- one of the managed to escape later -- from Rajasthan's Tidawali village on June 4.

Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan police were working under a joint strategy to get the abducted people released besides nabbing the dacoits.
