Five dead, six injured in Russia hostel fire

Moscow, June 25 (UNI) Five people were killed and six injured in a fire at a hostel in Russia's Beloyarsky town in Khanty-Mansiisk Autonomous District early today.

About 80 citizens of Ukraine and Belarus were living in the hostel. The fire broke out in the early hours.

Five people died on the spot in the blaze and six others hospitalised, Russian Emergency Situations Ministry spokesman Viktor Belts told Interfax news agency.

Fire fighters were immediately rushed to the scene to put out the blaze.

Meanwhile, the Sverdlovsk Region emergency situations centre told Interfax that eleven people were killed in the fire.
