Father dead, daughters serious after consuming poison

Kolhapur, Jun 25 (UNI) A man who administered liquid poison to his minor daughters died after consuming the same at his house near Ambap village in Hatkanangale tehsil of this district late last night.

His daughters are, however, in a critical condition.

Police today said that the man identified as Manohar Kamble (32) forcibly administered poison to his two daughters Monika (7) and Mayuri (6).

On hearing the girls' cries, neighbours rushed all three to Chhatrapati Pramila Raje Civil Hospital here where Manohar was' declared dead on arrival while his daughters' condition is said to be critical.

Manohar, a driver of a private vehicle had spent huge money on his wife's operation and was jobless. Frustrated over money problems, he took the drastic step, police said.
