Deputy jailor, 7 others suspended

Kanpur, June 25 : Deputy Jailor and seven jail police personnel of the Kanpur jail have been suspended for accepting bribe.

According to Jail Superintendent S N Lal, the Uttar Pradesh government has ordered a probe to the incident which came to light following a sting operation by a private TV channel yesterday.

The state government suspended Deputy Jailor Anjani Kumar Gupta.

Kishore Kumar Bajpai, Govind Singh, Rajkumar, Shailesh, Mohammed Rayees, Ram Himanchal Varma and Neeraj are the other accused.

They were shown accepting bribe from the visitors to provide extra facilities to the undertrials.
