BJP demands white paper on economic condition

Bangalore, June 25 : Bharatiya Janata Party National President Rajnath Singh today demanded that the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre to come out with a white paper on the economic condition of the country.

Talking to reporters here, he accused the UPA government of having failed on all fronts during its two-year rule and pointed out that the prices of essential commodities had skyrocketed and the sensex had witnessed major fluctutations thrice during the period.

It had also failed to come to the rescue of common man, he added.

He demanded convening of an all party meeting to discuss the price rise issue.

Mr Singh said ''Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is working under the influence of two extra constitutional authorities--the Congress and the Left parties.

He termed as 'historical blunder,' the UPA government's decision to make 15 per cent budgetary allocation for minorities and said the country would have to face a heavy loss due to this.

Mr Singh alleged that the Centre had given a new definition for poverty by dividing the people on the basis of religion and said ''Sooner this government goes it is better for the country.''
