Bangladesh firm supplies drugs to Singapore
DHAKA, June 25 (Reuters) London-listed Bangladesh drugmaker Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd today said it had started supplying proceptin-20 (Omeprazole) capsules to the second largest primary health care group in Singapore.
Beximco said it had won a recently launched tender by Healthway Medical Group for supplying Omeprazole for the next year.
Proceptin-20 capsules are used for the treatment of ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and other conditions involving excessive stomach acid.
''As per registration requirement and quality of pharmaceuticals is concerned, Singapore is one of the most stringently regulated market in Asia,'' Nazmul Hassan, Chief Executive Officer of Beximco, said in a statement.
Winning bids in Singapore was a significant milestone and breakthrough for Beximco Pharma, he added.
Earlier this year, Beximco won another tender by Raffles Hospital of Singapore to supply their one year requirements for four products.
