Atwal, Randhawa to bid for The Open tickets in qualifiers

New Delhi, June 25 (UNI) Arjun Atwal and Jyoti Randhawa will be aiming to book the last available places up for grabs as they tee off at the qualifiers for the 135th The Open Championship tomorrow at the Congressional in US and the Sunningdale in England respectively.

The duo will look to join Shiv Kapur, who has already qualified for the world's oldest major through International Final Qualifying in Sentosa Golf Club, Singapore held in April.

Atwal, who is struggling for form this season, failed to make the cut at the Booz Allen Classic this week but will look to shake off the slump at the Congressional. The Orlando-based Indian will be joined by Asian Tour regulars Ron Won, Edward Loar and Edward Michaels at the International Final Qualifying.

Daniel Chopra will also shoot for one of the 12 tickets to Royal Liverpool Golf Club, Hoylake in the 36-hole qualifiers.

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, Randhawa will be in action alongwith England's Simon Dyson, Malaysia's Iain Steel and England's Simon Hurd at Sunningdale.

Elsewhere, Jeev Milkha Singh will also be in the fray if the seasoned pro manages a top-four finish at the ongoing Mozuno Open in Japan.
