Angadia agent looted on gun point

Rajkot, June 25 (UNI) An employee of an 'angadia' (local courier) firm, who was travelling by a private luxury bus from Surat to Junagadh, was looted at a gun-point of cash and diamonds totalling worth Rs 16 lakh near Kagvad village in Jetpur taluka of this district.

The Jetpur taluka police station sources said Navin Tribhuvan Patel, the employee of the city-based Online Patel Angadia firm, in his complaint, stated that a co-passanger, who was sitting behind him, pointed a gun-like object at him and fled with cash Rs 8 lakh and eight diamonds, each worth Rs 1 lakh, when the luxury bus had halted at a petrol pump at, 0700 hrs yesterday.

By the time he could raise the alaram for help, the robber escaped with the booty on a two-wheeler with a person who was waiting for him at the spot, police said.

Police suspect that he could be a member of the gang.

A manhunt operation has been launched for the absconding duo, police said and added that a case of looting had been registered.
