UP to celebrate birth centenary year of Chandrashekhar Azad

Lucknow, June 23 (UNI) Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Memorial Trust today welcomed the decision of the Uttar Pradesh government to celebrate the birth centenary year of the great revolutionary.

Trust secretary Rajesh Shukla observed it was a welcome step, which would keep the memory of the martyrs fresh.

Azad was born at Badarka in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh.

He had played a key role in the freedom struggle, before he laid down his life for the cause of the nation.

Meanwhile, the Trust has also requested the UP government to develop Badarka in the memory of Azad.
