Indore, June 23 (UNI) Surya Roshni Ltd today said it will spend Rs 25 crore on a new unit for enhancing compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) production at its existing facility in Malanpur Industrial Area of Madhya Pradesh's Bhind district.

''Perceiving exponential growth in the CFL sector, the company is eyeing a 12-15 per cent market share in the next two years while the present share is 3 per cent. The unit will commence operations this October,'' Surya Roshni Executive Director Sharad Agrawal said today.

The market size of branded CFL products is estimated to be in the range of 70 lakh pieces per month and the sector is growing 50 to 60 per cent annually when compared to the bulb sector (10 per cent) and tube light sector (3 per cent).

''In coming years, the company's CFL division is poised to witness 300 per cent growth per annum while the bulb and tube sectors will see annual growth of 10 to 15 per cent. We sold 2 lakh CFL pieces in 2005-06 and will set a target for 6 lakh pieces this fiscal and 18 lakh in 2007-08,'' he added.

Surya Raoshni's turnover is expected to be Rs 500 crore by March 2007 in which CFL will contribute 10 per cent. The turnover will touch the Rs 1,000 crore-mark by 2010, he said.
