Mehbooba visits Ahad 'Bab', seeks security for him

Srinagar, June 23 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti today visited the residence of sufi saint Ahad 'Sahab', popularly known as Ahad 'Bab', at Novpora in Sopore area of Baramulla district.

During her interaction with the locals and the devotees, she said the people from all walks of life and all corners of the Valley usually throng the residence of the spiritual leader. Such incidents need to be averted by providing adequate security at the residence of Ahad 'Bab', the PDP Chief said.

Expressing solidarity with the people, Ms Mufti said the simple and assertive life of the sufi saint was an epitome of human values and age-old traditions of Kashmiriyat.

''It is a miracle that Ahah Bab escaped unhurt in the grenade attack which further strengthens the belief and faith of people in such a living spiritual personality,'' she added.
