Loot in Ranchi-Varansi intercity Express

Latehar, Jun 23 (UNI) Armed miscreants looted property worth more than Rs one lakh from Ranchi- Varanasi Intercity Express last night and injured several passengers on Barkakana-Barwadih rail section of South Eastern railway in the district.

Railway officials said the incident took place between Demuri and Chughuta railway stations when armed miscreants boarded one of the bogies of the train at around 2230hrs and looted property worth Rs one lakh, including Rs 65,000 in cash, and injured some passengers.

A case has been registered in the Barkakana railway police station. all efforts were being made to nab the culprits, police stated.
