Laughter has no boundary, feels comedy king Rauf Lala

Mumbai, June 23 (UNI) Pakistani comedian Rauf Lala has been voted the 'Hasi Ka Shahenshah' on Star One's 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge Dwitiya'.

The mega finale episode will be telecast tonight at 2200 hrs.

The winners were selected from the number of SMSs received.

Judges Navjot Singh Sidhu, Shekhar Suman and actor Bipasha Basu crowned the winner and handed over the keys of the brand new Chevrolet Aveo car.

Amongst the seven finalists, Mumbai's Rajeev Nigam was adjudged the first runner up while Agra's Pratap Fauzdar and Chandigarh's Khayali Saharan shared the trophy for the second runner up position.

An overwhelmed Rauf Lala said, ''When my name was announced I thought I was dreaming. I am sure every one back home in Pakistan will be proud and happy with my achievements today. I want to extend my gratitude to Star One and the people of India for this opportunity and honouring me with this wonderful title. My win has proved that laughter has no boundaries.'' Originally from Karachi, Rauf Lala has been a professional stand-up comedian in Pakistan for over two decades. He has shared the stage with renowned comedian Omar Sharif and has also starred in successful Pakistani play 'Bakra Kishton Pe'.

Rajeev Nigam, a professional scriptwriter from Mumbai with his comic antics was the first runner up and Fauzdar with his comic timing and spontaneity while Khayali with his witty gags ended up sharing the second runner up trophy.
