Gujarat based couple looted

Mumbai, June 23 (UNI) A Gujarat based couple was looted of about Rs 54,300 by three unidentified persons near Dhiraj Tower, Goregaon in western suburbs.

The complainant - G M Chandravashi (34) and his wife came to Mumbai in a car from Bharuch in Gujarat to meet their relatives at Goregaon, the police said here today.

At around 1415 hrs yesterday, when they were inquiring about address of their relatives near Dhiraj Tower at Goregaon, three unidentified persons came and threatened them at knief point and took cash of Rs 8,500, mobile worth worth Rs 14,000 and jewellery worth Rs 31,800, a total of 54,300 and fled from the spot.

Mr Chandravashi's wife has received minor stabbing injury on the face.

Police has registered a case of robbery and further investigation is in progress.
