Cong-PDP alliance to continue after 2008 polls: Baig

Srinagar, June 23: Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig has asserted that the alliance between the Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will continue even after the 2008 Assembly elections.

Addressing a series of pubic meetings in Baramulla district, Mr Baig asserted that the coalition government was firmly placed.

He also added that the coalition government was pursuing a multi-pronged approach for peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir.

The coalition government was pursuing the dialogue process with all seriousness and all outstanding issues would be resolved only through negotiations, the Minister said.

The state government, as a matter of policy, was committed to change the development profile of the state, he added.
