Chennai school wins international status award

Chennai, June 23: Sri Vidya Academy Residential School has been given the International Centre Status by University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).

According to a release, the chairman of Sri Vidya Academy Residential School yesterday said the institution was proud to be associated with the Cambridge University as it would be able to extend and offer quality education to the local community.

Pointing out that the recognition would benefit the students in the region CIE chief executive officer expressed hope of a ''long and productive relatioship'' with the school.

The release claimed that the CIE was the largest provider of international qualifications for students in the 14-19 age group. It is part of the Cambridge Assessment Group, a non-profit organisation.

The school is now upgraded to offer a range of internationally accepted qualifications inluding IGCSE and GCSE.
