ASI gets judicial custody for demanding Rs 500 bribe in Guj
Jamnagar, Gujarat, June 22 (UNI) A local fast track court today sent an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) to 14 days judicial custody for demanding a bribe of Rs 500 from an engineering student for clearing his passport documents.
Delivering the judgment, Justice Shukla awarded 14 days judicial custody to ASI Gul Mohammed Abubhai for demanding the bribe of Rs 500 from Mehul Dhirajlal Virani for clearing his passport documents from Kalavad police station area of the city yesterday.
When the Abubhai demanded the bribe money, Virani approached the local anti-corruption bureau (ACB).
Following this, ACB Police Inspector B V Jani laid a trap and arrested the ASI red-handed while accepting the money in his own police station.
