AP witnesses heavy rain

Hyderabad, June 23 (UNI) Bringing cheer to farmers, the southwest monsoon was vigorous, covering most parts of Andhra Pradesh today.

Talking to UNI, Hyderabad Meteorological Department Director Satya Kumar said the upper air circulation moved over to land, bringing more rains to most of Telangana, barring Adilabad district and Coastal Andhra.

Mr Kumar said moderate to rather heavy rain and thundershowers were likely to occur at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the next 48 hours. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers were likely to occur at a few places over Rayalaseema during the period, he added.

Chitoor had a high rainfall of five cm, followed by Vijayawada four, Arogyavaram and Pargi three.
