Vasundhara condemns attack on Amarnath pilgrims

Jaipur, June 22: Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia has condemned yesterday attack on Amarnath pilgrims which included at least five pilgrims from Rajasthan.

Reacting strongly to the attack, Ms Raje said the attacks on innocent pilgrims prove terrorists' distorted mental state. She urged the Jammu and Kashmir government to provide adequate security to the pilgrims.

She said the ''strike is an attack on our religious faith''. While conveying condolence to the families of the pilgrims, she prayed for their speedy recovery.

Five pilgrims from Jodhpur were hurt when militants hurled grenade at the bus they were travelling in at Ganderbal area of Srinagar yesterday.

The bus carrying 40 passengers was on its way to Srinagar from Baltal base camp for the annual pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Amarnath.
