Vallyathan cremated

Pathanamthitta, June 22 (UNI) The mortal remains of noted painter V S Vallyathan, this year's recipient of Raja Ravivarma Puraskaram, were consigned to flames in the premises of his ancestral house in Pandalam today.

His son Kannan lit the pyre.

Hundreds of people from various walks of life paid homage to the artist, who died yesterday.

District Collector-in-charge B Mohanan laid a wreath on the body on behalf of Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan.
