Talukdar felicitated by Tata Steel

Jamshedpur, Jun 22 (UNI) Ace arecher Jayanta Talukdar was today felicitated by Tata Steel managing director B Muthuraman for his outstanding achievments in the game.

Talukdar, who brought laurels for the country, was honoured with a cheque of Rs One lakh at a function at the JRD Tata Sports complex.

Talukdar, who joined Tata Archery Academy (TAA) in 2000 under the coaching of Dharmendra Tiwari and Purnima Mahto, won gold medal in the World Archery championship in Croatia defeating Sweden's M Petersen last month.

He also annexed gold in Asian archery grand prix championship in Bangkok recently.

Talukdar, ranked number one in India while fourth in world slot, got silver medal in the senior World Archery championship in Mardid last year. He also contributed in individual and team championship events in national and Asian archery championships.

Lauding the promising archer for his contributions at his young age Mr Muthuraman promised to provide all sorts of help to boost his energy.
