SWR depts bag efficiency shield for 2005-06

Bangalore, June 22 (UNI) The Transportation and Commercial Departments of South Western Railway (SWR) have bagged the efficiency shield for the year 2005-06 from the Railway Board for its commendable performance.

To mark the honour, a meeting was convened by the departments yesterday at SWR, Hubli, to discuss the achievements during 2005-06 and deliberate on the strategies and action plan to achieve better performance during the ensuing financial year, a SWR release here said today.

It was noted in the meeting that the total earnings during 2005-06 were Rs 2,569.54 crore as against Rs 1,774.88 crore during the previous year, registering a growth of 44.77 per cent, the release said.
