SW monsoon to remain active in next couple of days

Pune, June 22 (UNI) The South West monsoon has been vigorous in Kerala, Karnataka, and will continue to be active in the next 48 hours due to the system over Bay of Bengal, IMD sources here said today.

''The conditions are favourable for a good rainfall for the next 2-3 days. The monsoon will be active in Telangana, Marathwada and most parts of Maharshtra,'' IMD's weather forecasting Diector R R Lele said.

When asked whether the rains would continue without another break, Ms Lele said it was difficult to forecast for a long period. ''I can only say for the next few days there will be good rainfall,'' she said.

On if the pattern was similar to last year when there was a long break and the revival lasting all of three months, she said it was not possible to comment about the rainfall pattern for more than 48 hours.
