SDO, Roadways official caught for taking bribe

Chandigarh, Jun 22 (UNI) The Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught a Sub Divisional Officer of the Public Health division and a Duty Inspector of Haryana Roadways red-handed while accepting bribes and booked them under Prevention of Corruption Act.

A spokesman of the bureau said that SDO Chander Mohan posted at Sub Division No. 3, Sirsa was caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 from Buta Ram of village Mado Singhana to avoid payment of a bill of Rs 50,000 for electrical motor winding and maintenance.

Duty Inspector, Dyan Singh was nabbed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1000 from Mr Ved Parkash, Driver at Sirsa depot for not changing his duty on Sirsa-Sanghria-Suratgarh route.

The cases were being investigated at the police station of the bureau in Hisar, he said.
