Reliance to take over Govt dairy in Bengal

Kolkata, Jun 22 (UNI) Mukesh Ambani's Relaince Group is likely to take over the state-run Haringhata Dairy in West Bengal after the company's foray in the state in agro-retail business and supply of natural gas.

" Reliance is likely to rejuvenate the Haringhata dairy. The company has submitted a project report which I am going through now, " Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee told reporters.

Mr Bhattacharjee said earlier, the Indonesian Salim Group had also visited Haringhata dairy in Nadia district. " But I think Reliance will be able to rejuvenate it, " he said.

The Chief Minister was speaking with reporters at a programme of the Animal Resource Development Ministry in which the state Government handed over 500 acre of land to Hind Industry for setting up a Rs 1,000-crore project for a buffalo and goat rearing and breeding centre at Salbani in West Midnapore district.
