Rain likely in southern India

Pune, June 22 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has been vigrous in north interior Karnataka and active in Kerala.

In the regions where the southwest monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of west Rajsthan, Madhya Pkradesh, Vidarbha and of north Chattisgarh and were above normal in some parts of Uttar Pradesh and of east Rajasthan. They were normal over the rest of the regions.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep and at many places in madhya Maharashtrta, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh and at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.
