Punjab sports department slashes stadia booking charges

Chandigarh, Jun 22 (UNI) With a view to encourage sportspersons and sports associations to make maximum use of sports facilities, the Punjab Sports Department has decided to slash the booking charges of stadia for organising competitions and also for daily training.

Sports Director Padamshree Pargat Singh said here today that that booking charges for stadia, synthetic track, indoor gymnasium hall, table tennis hall, indoor hall, weightlifting hall and hockey turf ground, swimming pool, badminton courts, shooting range, cycling velodrome has been slashed against the old rate.

The Sports Department has further drastically slashed the charges of sports hostel accommodation.

He further said in case a stadium is also used for entertainment programme along with the sports competitions, the organisers would be solely responsible for any damage to the stadium or its property and the organisers would have to pay damages in the office of the respective District Sports Officer on the spot.
