Mumbai, Jun 22 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP president Nitin Gadkari today claimed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has forgotten the assurances about changing the 100 year old drainage system of Mumbai and providing financial assistance to the city under National Urban Renewal Mission.

In a release issued here today, Mr Gadkari said the state government had demanded Rs 11,000 crore from the centre but their demand was hardly considered.

He further said the Versova -Amdheri-Ghatkopar metro rail project is of Rs 2356 crore and the state government had recommended that Rs 650 crore should be given by the centre.

He further said the state government has also decided that if the centre does not give the feasibility gap amount, the state government would pay the same to the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority. ''This indicates that the state government was not sure about the assistance from the centre,'' he said.
