NRI killed in crossfire in Nigeria

Dubai, June 22 (UNI) An Indian employee of a Dubai-based company was killed after he was caught in the crossfire between two gangs in Nigeria in the early hours on Saturday last, according to sources close to the family.

Nirmal Narang, sales representative of an auto spare parts company, died on the spot after he was shot in the head while travelling with his colleagues in Festac Town in Lagos, sources told The Gulf Today.

According to a family friend, Narang was killed hours before he was scheduled to board a flight to Dubai.

His wife Barkha and daughter Komal live in Dubai's Karama.

Narang had been working for the Dubai company for over six years, and was deputed to Nigeria around 18 months ago, soon after his family reached Dubai.

Narang's brother, who lives in London, has flown to Lagos for taking his body back to his native town in Mumbai in India.
