Bangalore, June 22 (UNI) The Karnataka High Court today ordered issuance of notices to the State Government, Vishweshwaraiah Technological University Vice-Chancellor and Registrar on a public interest litigation, questioning the appointment of Mr Vrushabhendrappa as Chief Examination Supervisor for engineering examinations.

Mr Justices B Padmaraj and Syed Abdul Nazeer issued the notices on a PIL filed by one Manjunath.

The petitioner contended that Mr Vrushabhendrappa of Davanagere was not eligible to hold the post as his daughter Tejaswini was appearing for the exams at Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology Examination Centre, Davanagere. She had written the exams, which commenced on June 19 and had to appear for the practicals on July four. Earlier also, he had been appointed the Chief Examiner in COMED-K examination when his son was a candidate.
