Nikkei rises 1 pct as techs rebound

Tokyo, June 22: The Nikkei average rose 1.16 percent on Thursday, led by gains in tech stocks such as Sony Corp. after the U.S. tech-laden Nasdaq market rose, snapping a three-day losing streak.

The Nikkei was up 170.13 points at 14,814.39 as of 0003 GMT.

The broader TOPIX index was up 1.05 percent at 1,521.39.
