NCL officials' fate still not known

Vijayawada, June 22 (UNI) The fate of two Nagarjuna Cements Limited (NCL) officials abducted by six armed men about two days back still remains unclear.

Krishna District Superintendent of Police M K Singh told UNI this morning there was no information about the officials.

The special police teams working on the case were probing all angles,including the possibility of Maoist involvment.

The abductors had reportedly made telephone calls to NCL Managing Director K Ravi on June 20 and demanded a ransom of Rs one crore for the safe release of General Manager U V Rama Raju and Personnel Officer Shaik Galib Saheb.

The police sent special police parties to Khammam District to rescue the employees as the kidnappers reportedly made their way to khammam forest area after the abduction.

Visakha Inspector General B L Meena had convened a meeting with the district police to chalk out a plan to nab the abductors.

Meanwhile, the family members of Mr Raju said they wre constantly in touch with the NCL Managing Director.

Mr Rama Raju's wife U Vijaya Lakshmi appealed to the kidnappers not to harm her husband.

The officials were kidnapped while they were supervising construction work of the factory at Kadimpothavaram of G Kondur Mandal.
