Jaipur, June 22 (UNI) The frequency of dust storms have increased with rising temperatures in western parts of Rajasthan where people are eagerly awaiting the arrival of monsoon.

Weather officials said the sporadic rains, termed as the pre-monsoon showers, a few days back had raised hopes of early arival of monsoon in the state. But now the monsoon seems at least a week away.

Udaipur received 1.1 mm rains till 0830 hrs today. The minimum temperatures have also risen with Dholpur, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Ganganagar, Jaipur recording 30 degrees Celsius, and Bikaner 31 degrees Celsius.

Yesterday the maximum temperatures hovered between 42 to 43 degrees Celsius in Barmer and Jaisalmer regions. Although the night temperatures have recorded a fall, the days are still hot and humid.

Weathermen predict no respite from the heat in the next few days, while expecting more dust-storms accompanied with scattered rains in most parts of Rajasthan.
