Minimum temperatures rise in HP

Shimla, Jun 22 (UNI) The minimum temperatures rose by a few degrees across Himachal Pradesh today, bringing respite to the people from the wintry conditions prevailing in the state following intermittent snowfall in the tribal districts early this week.

The tribal districts of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnuar, Chamba and Kullu were experiencing bright sunshine for the second day today after receiving intermittent snowfall for the last five days from last Saturday.

Official sources said sky was clear over Kelylong in Lahaul-Spiti, Rekong Peo in Kinnuar and Manali in Kullu district and people were basking in the sun.

The minimum temperature at Kalpa in Kinnuar district rose to 9.2 from 6.7 degrees recorded yesterday and official sources said the sky was clear over the entire district for the second day today, increasing the day and night temperatures in the district.

The night temperatures at Shimla, Bhuntar and Sundernagar rose to 17.2, 18 and 201.1 degrees respectively from 12.6, 14 and 16.7 degrees recorded yesterday.

The sky was clear over Shimla and its adjoining areas before being partially covered by the clouds during the later half of the day.

The Met office has predicted isolated rains at several places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
