Maharashtra Governor on 2-day visit to Vidarbha
Mumbai, Jun 22: Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna is on a two- day visit to Vidarbha region, including Yavatmal district, which has reported the largest number of suicides by farmers.
He left for Nagpur last night from Mumbai. During the day today, Mr Krishna will proceed to Yavatmal by road, where he will visit Sonegaon, Kalamb in the district and meet families of farmers who have committed suicides. The Governor interacted with local government officials regarding farmers suicide at Circuit house in Yavatmal.
Later in the afternoon, he will visit Ghodkhindi, Pimpri Buti to meet families of victims and again return to Yavatmal and later to Nagpur.
Tommorrow, he will go to Wardha district and visit villages like Rehaki. Mr Krishna will visit the Bapu Kutir in Sevagram and also go to Salod village. He will return to Mumbai tommorrow evening.
