Lioness gives birth to dead-cub in premature delivery

Junagadh, Gujarat, June 22 (UNI) A five-year-old lioness in a pre-mature delivery has given birth to a dead-cub at Shakarbaug Zoo here today.

Zoo Superintedent R D Katara told UNI that the lioness gave birth, after 100 days since she conceived the baby, compared to normal pregnancy period of 120 days.

It is rare that wild cat gives premature birth, Mr Katara said and added that it was the first pregnancy for the lioness.
