New Delhi, June 22 (UNI) Launching a frontal attack on the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar, Lok Janshakti Party president Ram Vilas Paswan today announced an agitation against ''nine months of the NDA's misrule'' in the state beginning from August nine.

''The law and order situation in the state was going from bad to worse, all developmental activities had come to a halt and the criminals are ruling the roost,'' Mr Paswan said.

''To register our protest and concern against these development, the LJP would launch an agitation beginning with a rally at the Kranti Maidan of Patna on August nine, he told reporters here.

Claiming a bright future for the recently formed Jan Morcha in Uttar Pradesh, Mr Paswan, however, said his party alone was enough to take on the NDA government in Bihar.

''People of the state have seen the misrule of the Congress, the RJD and the NDA and now they would naturally turn to Ramvilas Paswan,'' said the dalit leader from Bihar.

He said in Uttar Pradesh too, his party was gaining support of dalits because they were disillusioned with Ms Mayawati and could not find an alternative in Mr Mulayam Singh's party.

The BSP cadres were highly dissatisfied with Ms Mayawati's ways of functioning, he added.

He also said that a large number of Muslims in Uttar Pradesh were joining his party.

In this connection, he announced that a rally in support of minorities rights would soon be held in Agra, Aligarh and Firozabad district of the state and Dehradun district of the neighbouring Uttaranchal.

Mr Paswan also announced some changes in the state leadership of the party. Ms Meera Chakravarty will be the new party chief in West Bengal, while former MP Shashi Prakash will head the UP unit. Mr Ranveer Singh has been given charge of Dadar and Nagar Haveli while Mr Donbok Walang will be the chief of the LJP's Meghalaya unit.

Replying to question, Mr Paswan said the Jan Morcha formed with the blessing of former Prime Minister VP Singh, was finding wide support in Uttar Pradesh.

Emphasising that the front was only against the SP, SP and the BJP, Mr Paswan said he would also like the Congress to join the Morcha as it was also against these parties.
