Govt keen to develop eco-tourism in state
Srinagar, June 22 : The Jammu and Kashmir government is keen to introduce Eco-tourism in the state by developing world class Golf courses besides introducing adventure tourism.
Principal Secretary Tourism, Anil Goswami said Golf courses would be developed at Sonamarg, Gulmarg, Phalagam and Jammu.
He said the government is also keen to promote adventure tourism and winter sports, infrastructure for which is also being developed at Gulmarg.
During the deliberations, tourist travel trade representatives stressed for development of eco-friendly tourism circuits.
The participants stressed for perspective planning for 20 years and introduction of conflict insurance scheme.
They also stressed for massive publicity and suggested participation in tourism trade fairs in South East Asia, West Asia and Central Asian countries. Promotion of adventure tourism for which the state has tremendous potential was also stressed upon.
