Intnl symposium on food, nutrition in Mysore from tomorrow
Mysore, June 22 (UNI) A three-day international symposium on building leadership skills in food and nutrition essential for national development will commence at the Central Food Technological Research Institute here from tomorrow.
In a release here yesterday, CFTRI said capacity building in food and nutrition was one of the major problems in many of the developing countries and even developed nations. The symposium had been organised to address important questions such as how to leverage this agenda by intertwining and linking food and nutrition with a focus on food based approach, it said.
Eminent scientists, professionals and policy makers from various fields in the areas of food and nutrition from countries like the USA, China, Egypt, South Africa, Iran, Thailand, Germany, Sudan, Singapore, Korea, Mexico and Morocco were expected to participate in the event, to be inaugurated by agriculture scientist M S Swaminathan.
