India, Sweden to cooperate in Science, technology

New Delhi, Jun 22 : There would be greater mobility of scientists, graduate students, research workers, technologists and scholars besides other forms of cooperation between India and Sweden in the coming days.

The cabinet today gave its approval to the agreement signed between India and Sweden on December 9, 2005 at Stockholm to cooperate in science and technology.The agreement shall remain in force for a period of five years.

The two countries would organise bilateral scientific and technical seminars, workshops and courses on prblems of interest to both countries.

There would be joint identification of scientific and technical problems, formulation and implementation of joint research, Finance Minister P Chidambaram told mediapersons after the cabinet meeting here.

The two countries would facilitate industrial R and D and catalyse creation of joint ventures, he saidl.
