Empowering PSEs, Prevention of Corruption Act referred to GoMs

New Delhi, June 22 (UNI) The Cabinet today referred the issue of Empowering Public Sector Undertakigs to a Group of Ministers(GoM).

The Cabinet considered the issue at its meeting this morning, but decided to refer it to a GoM.

Finance Minister P Chidambaram told newspersons here that the Cabinet took into account the Report of the ad hoc Committee on Empowering PSEs, headed by Mr Arjun Sengupta, a well-known economist and former member of the Planning Commission.

The Committee had submited is Report some months ago and had made far reaching recommendations on Empowering Public Sector Undertakings(PSUs).

Mr Chidambaram also said amendment to the Prevention of Corruption Act has also been referred to the GoM.

The Finance Minister was briefing the Press on he outcome of the Cabinet and CCEA meetings.
