EDS acquires 52 pc of Mphasis BFL

New Delhi, June 22: Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS) today announced that it has acquired a majority stake of 52 per cent in Bangalore-based Mphasis BFL Ltd for 380 million dollar in cash.

The company will operate as an independent EDS company.

With the addition of Mphasis and current expansion plans, the total work force of EDS in Idia is projected to be over 20,000 by year end, a company statement said.

EDS, a technology services firm, recorded a revenue of 19.8 billion in FY06.

Mphasis is a leading applications and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services company employing over 12,000 people worldwide including 11,000 in India.
