Delayed monsoon; sultry weather prevails in UP

Lucknow, June 22 (UNI) With the monsoon remaining elusive, there seems no imminent relief from sultry weather in Uttar Pradesh.

The Met office said here today the mercury recorded increase in Faizabad, Jhansi, Agra and Kanpur divisions.

Meanwhile, Jhansi recorded the maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius, which was three degrees above normal.

The delayed monsoon is expected to touch the eastern parts of UP before the end of this month.

Thundershowers are forecast at a few places in Lucknow, Faizabad, Jhanshi, Varanasi and Kanpur divisions in the next 24 hrs.
