Co-op farm loans in TN Dist waived

Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, Jun 22 (UNI) About 13,000 farmers in this district have received 'no arrears' certificates from the cooperative banks in keeping with Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's announcment on waiver of cooperative loans.

District Collector S Vijayaraj Kumar held a meeting with Co-operative officials where it was decided to expedite the issue of such certificates to the farmers.

The total amount of dues waived up to June 20 this year was Rs 24.02 crore. Over 1.11 lakh farmers were expected to benefit from the loan waiver.
