Bhopal, Jun 22: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today denied having received any notice from the Election Commission over the office-of-profit issue.

''Nine ministers and three MLAs received notices. The Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Mandal Sadasya Nirharta Nivaran Adhiniyam, enforced in 1982, and an amendment thereto in 1993 dealt with the office-of-profit issue,'' he told journalists at his residence here.

Mr Chouhan assured that the notices would be responded to within the stipulated time limit, June 28, after consulting judicial experts.

Acting on a complaint by Leader of the Opposition Jamuna Devi, notices were issued to ministers Babulal Gaur, Yashodhara Raje Scindia, Jagdish Deora, Gopal Bhargava, Rustam Singh, Ramakant Tiwari, Ch Chandrabhan Singh, Vijay Shah, Tukoji Rao Pawar, legislators Lakshman Singh Gaur, Shivraj Shah and Lal Singh Arya.
